The 2025 Tour, a  demanding route

The 2025 Tour de France will take place from July 5 to 27, with a 100% French route of 3,338 km.

The Grand Départ will be held in Lille, before a journey across the country marked by five summit finishes, two time trials, and very few stages for pure sprinters.

The final finish, unprecedented, will take place in Paris via Montmartre, as a nod to the Olympic Games. A demanding route that promises excitement and should favor the climbers.

The race in 2 minutes

The Tour de France

The Tour de France is the greatest cycling race in the world.

Created in 1903, it brings together the best riders every summer, divided into 22 teams, for 21 stages over 3 weeks. The overall winner is the one with the shortest cumulative time at the end of all the stages. Each day has its own challenge: sprinters, climbers, time trialists… Everyone plays their card.

Plains, mountains, time trials…

Varied stages

Mountain stages are often decisive, with formidable ascents where the favorites battle it out. Time trials, ridden solo, allow riders to build crucial gaps. Flat stages, meanwhile, are the playground of sprinters, while hilly or technical routes can catch the inattentive off guard.

Each stage profile influences the overall standings.

A rivalry at the top

A new duel?

Slovenian Tadej Pogačar returns in strong form after his victory at the Giro.

Facing him, Jonas Vingegaard (Visma | Lease a Bike), two-time defending champion, is targeting a historic treble but remains uncertain after his serious crash in the Basque Country. If both are in form, the duel promises to be electric in the Alps and during the time trials. The suspense remains complete.

Highly anticipated challengers

Well-armed rivals

Remco Evenepoel (Soudal Quick-Step), world time trial champion, could shine on such a complete course. Primož Roglič, at Bora-Hansgrohe, arrives with a solid team. On the French side, David Gaudu and Lenny Martinez will be ones to watch!

Gaps could open up as early as the first week.

A Parisian finale returns

The final push in Paris

For the first time, the Tour will pass through Montmartre, and will finish as usual on the Champs-Élysées. This spectacular finale through the narrow streets of the capital could give rise to a last-ditch effort from the puncheurs or resistant sprinters.

A finish that will close three weeks of intense and strategic racing.
