A day with  the French Mountain Biking Champion

Hold your breath for a downhill MTB run with an onboard camera alongside Bastien, who even competed in the French Mountain Biking Championships. We followed our champion for a day and took the opportunity to test our Shapeheart mount under the extreme conditions of mountain biking.

Facing the skeptics, we wanted to rise to the challenge once again by teaming up with a professional MTB rider to demonstrate the reliability of our mounts. Mountain biking with a professional means high-speed descents, rocky terrain, roots, intense vibrations, tight corners and sometimes even backflips! Needless to say, our mount went through a real ordeal. And the result? It held firm, and we can't wait to tell you all about this adventure.

Meeting Bastien

Bastien has been passionate about mountain biking since he was young. Used to challenging terrain, he regularly competes and has notably taken part in the French Championships. So when he agreed to test our Shapeheart magnetic mount, we knew the test would be merciless… And that was exactly what we needed to prove that our mount is up to even the most extreme challenges.

A test across varied terrain

For this test, Bastien took us to his training ground: heading to Fontainebleau, on steep trails scattered with roots and rocks, with sharp descents. As shown in the video, our mount held firm! Our magnet, capable of supporting up to 10 kg (that's 50 times the weight of a phone), keeps the phone firmly in place even at 70 km/h in the middle of a descent. And for the extra cautious, a safety cord ensures maximum peace of mind, even in the toughest conditions.

Solid performance

Throughout the day, we chained descent after descent and obstacle after obstacle — and unsurprisingly, the Shapeheart magnetic sleeve didn't flinch. Bastien even told us he didn't expect such stability, even on the biggest jumps. In Bastien's case, in addition to protecting against rain, the sleeve also has the added benefit of protecting against mud. What more could you ask for?

Bastien's verdict

After several hours of intensive descents, Bastien told us he was won over by our magnetic mount. He particularly appreciated the ease with which he could remove and replace his phone — handy for taking photos, accessing his GPS, and checking training settings. For him, it's a cycling accessory he could recommend to all MTB enthusiasts — or cyclists in general, for that matter.
