The 2025 Tour de France will take place from July 5 to 27, with a 100% French route covering 3,338 km.
The Grand Départ will be held in Lille, before a cross-country journey featuring five summit finishes, two time trials, and very few stages for pure sprinters.
The final finish, unprecedented, will take place in Paris via Montmartre, a nod to the Olympic Games. A demanding route that promises great racing and should favor the climbers.
The race in 2 minutes
The Tour de France
The Tour de France is the greatest cycling race in the world.
Created in 1903, it brings together every summer the best riders, split into 22 teams, for 21 stages over 3 weeks. The overall winner is the rider who accumulates the shortest time across all stages. Each day has its own challenge: sprinters, climbers, time-trialists… everyone plays their card.
Plains, mountains, time trials…
Varied stages
Mountain stages are often decisive, with formidable climbs where the favorites battle it out. Time trials, ridden solo, allow riders to gain precious time gaps. Flat stages are the sprinters' playground, while hilly or technical routes can catch the unwary off guard.
Each stage profile influences the final standings.
A rivalry at the top
A new rivalry?
Slovenian rider Tadej Pogačar returns strong after his victory at the Giro.
On the other side, Jonas Vingegaard (Visma | Lease a Bike), the outgoing double winner, is aiming for a historic hat-trick but remains uncertain following his serious crash in the Basque Country. If both are in top form, the duel promises to be electrifying in the Alps and on the time trials. The suspense remains complete.
Highly anticipated challengers
Well-armed rivals
Remco Evenepoel (Soudal Quick-Step), time trial world champion, could shine on such a well-rounded course. Primož Roglič, at Bora-Hansgrohe, arrives with a solid team. On the French side, David Gaudu and Lenny Martinez will be ones to watch!
The gaps could open up as early as the first week.

Iconic mountain passes
This 2025 edition brings the great French mountain passes back into the spotlight: the return of Ventoux, a finish at the Col de la Loze, a stage at Hautacam…
All perfect terrain for climbers and long-range attacks. The favorites will need to stay vigilant: gaps could open up quickly, with the general classification changing almost every day.
A Parisian finale returns
The final push in Paris
For the first time, the Tour will pass through Montmartre, and will finish as usual on the Champs-Élysées. This spectacular finale through the narrow streets of the capital could give rise to a last-ditch effort from puncheurs or resilient sprinters.
A finish that will close three weeks of intense and strategic racing.
The Tour de France is not just something you watch — it inspires.
Whether you're an amateur cyclist or simply a passionate fan, every stage makes you want to ride, to improve, to experience the road in your own way.
And for that, sometimes all it takes is a good route… and the right accessories.
